1. Always deal with at least 2 decks of cards in the hopper. The extra weight of the 2nd deck is needed to keep downward pressure on the feed roller so the cards will feed quickly and properly.
2. Generally, DON’T adjust the Card Width Adjustment knob on the front of the machine, as it is set properly for nearly all cards. The correct setting is one where the cards have about 1/16″ gap to the moveable hopper wall, so the cards can feed freely. Note that this adjustment is REVERSE threaded, so turning the knob Clockwise will increase the clearance.
3. Simple cleaning of your Dealer4 is needed to keep it running fast and error-free. If your machine starts dealing more slowly, clean just the orange feed roller and deal times will usually return to normal. See the detailed cleaning instructions on this web site for more thorough cleaning which is needed less often.
4. Start dealing with the cards from board #36 and put them into board #1. This automatically rotates the cards and they all wear out evenly rather than the early boards wearing out way before the end boards.
5. Leave your Dealer4 machine set up all the time if possible. Repeatedly inserting and removing the USB cable can eventually cause damage to the USB port or cable.
6. Do not operate the Dealer4 machine in full sunlight or near a bright outside window. This can cause glare on the camera lens and optical photo sensors and will cause errors which are difficult to diagnose.
7. If the Dealer4 machine does not operate, check the power supply transformer “brick” to make sure the green LED light is illuminated. If not, either the wall power has failed or the transformer has burned out and needs replacement.
8. Never leave your Dealer4 machine in a hot car parked in the sun. The rubber rollers cannot withstand the intense heat and could be damaged, requiring replacement.
